What is an Indulgence?
Canon 992 of the Catholic Church's Code of Canon Law states:
"An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment for sin, the guilt of which is already forgiven that can be gained by the faithful Christian who in a State of Grace meets prescribed conditions." Have the interior disposition of complete detachment form sin 2. visit a church to recite the Lord's Prayer and Apostle's Creed 3. sacramentally confess your sins 4. receive the Holy Eucharist 5. Pray for the intention of the Pope- an 'Our Father' and 'Hail Mary'
